This deck was
built by another contractor and decked in whitewood lumber. We were called
in to finish
the job by adding a stairway down to the lower level of the yard overlooking White Rock Creek.
We were also asked
to build a railing of copper tubing in a horizontal configuration as well
skirt the deck and build a small fence and gate to separate the garage area from the deck.
At the owner's
request, we used whitewood on all the new construction so that when stained
later, everything would match. Normally, we use either treated lumber, Cedar, Redwood or Ipe.
