Crossroads Guitar Festival

Joe Walsh....anyone with half a brain knows that when you talk about guitar players,
this guy's name is bound to come up sooner than later. Up until the point he hit the stage, there
had been very little comic relief, but once he opened his mouth, the crowd started laughing.

For those who might not know, Joe has been playing the part of the quintessential stoner since the
days when he really was just that. About the only one who comes close to his performance
is Ozzy and unfortunately, his is not an act. Joe realized early on that he had the perfect look
and a very good delivery to go with it. His first words were "This IS Sunday right?" Then he tells us
he's cold (he has a jacket on)...what a nut!

I have seen Joe several times, even once with the Eagles, but I enjoyed this show much more even though his set was shorter than I would have liked it to be. We got to hear Funk 49, Walk Away &
Rocky Mountain Way...all were great.

The first big highlight of this show was JW. He had the crowd rocking and had the best between
song verbage of any band or guest during the whole show. Steve Cropper from the MG's
stayed on stage to play with Joe and they played very well together. I sure hope Joe
tours again solo soon...he's great with the Eagles, but he really shines on his own.

All this has me thinking about getting a new digital camera soon. I really like the idea of a
better zoom for the next show we go to.

Here's a page I found of more pics from Joe's performance courtesy of the Eagles fan site...
