Crossroads Guitar Festival
Booker T and the MG's...man that was a blast from the past and a very good one. Breaking into Green Onions, the band got a very rousing response from the crowd. It was great seeing them for the first time. I remember hearing their music way back in the late 60's on the radio. Very interesting was the fact the Steve Cropper, the original guitarist was still with them, and that he played with the next three bands after Booker T. more about that later...suffice to say that this set was among the most enjoyable of the day. Wish my pics woulda come out clearer...all three have Steve playing the guitar in the screen inset.
By this time the floor had filled up and the stands were starting to look a little closer to respectable for a concert of this stature....after the hassle I went through to get seats in the lower bowl, you'd have thought the stands woulda been SRO. Look very close on the last pic and you'll see the first two seats filled in the upper deck on the south side.
