Crossroads Guitar Festival
Now we have EC himself!
First off he played a number of blues tunes, then he ripped into
I Shot the Sheriff,
then Layla and a number of other well known tunes including Cocaine. At
this point I had 10 pics left so I waited for Jeff Beck to join Eric before
getting any shots.
This marked the first
time I had seen him since the days of Cream....I know, what's up with that?
Well suffice to say that I just never made an effort to see him. I enjoyed
seeing him, but if it weren't for the rest of the bill, I doubt I would
have gone. I was not happy that Crossroads was not played. I know it was
to be the final song and that he, Beck and ZZ Top were to play together
and that weather stopped them down,
but I have to put
that in the "no excuse" box.
Another disappointment
came when Jeff Beck did not get his due time on stage. He was only there
for two "songs".
What a shame since of all the players, he is at the top of the heap. Both
of these pics were of Jeff playing with Eric, but neither came out well
since I had no tripod, so I made some more 'art'. I also tossed in a crowd
shot since Jeff left early.
