After raving about
our own camping trip to Beaver's Bend, others in the club related their
interest
in camping...that
prompted us to start planning a club camping trip for this spring.
We had already met Ryan and Kelly for a trip back in the fall and were plotting a time when the rest of the SBC gang could make it. We settled on March 27th & 28th. Jana and I went up first to get the prime spot.
It rained the first day all the way from Mt. Pleasant to the campsite. When we got the new tent set up, it started coming down pretty hard. No campfire that night....not even a grill going, we ate sammiches and hid from the rain. The pics I have here are posted chronologically and show the highlights of the trip.
We had a great time and can't wait for the next one to Lake Whitney in late spring. The first shots are of the foggy scenes we saw at the site.
Now we go
to the set up of the campsite. The first day it was all we could do to
get our own tent
set up. The rain
fly would have to wait as we were hungry....
It rained
all nite, but the next day I set upon getting the entire set up done. We
went to a sale
on 259 and I
found Xmas lights for a buck ...they worked! I got the rain fly up, the
fire ring built and the hammock hung...all this time we had things hanging
everywhere to dry out....sure looked like
we lived there...:)
Check out the wind on the rainfly....
