Beaver's Bend trip #2
Recently
we went on the second trip to Beaver's Bend to camp out. We were joined
by
two
friends from our car club The
Southern Bowties
Ryan
and Kelly Chrisenberry, and despite the very crowded campgrounds, managed
to have
a
very good time. The first pic was the sunset on Broken Bow, OK on the way
in the first nite
with
us traveling about 75 mph in the C-20....Jana took this one.
We
missed meeting Ryan and Kelly the first night. We were waiting for them
at the pre-determined
place,
then I got to wondering if they had trouble on the way in and decided to
go looking for them
before
we set up for the night's campout. Sure enough they were 15 minutes away
when I pulled out and it only took me 10 minutes to get back to the main
road. It was very late and Jana was very tired so we headed for another
campground by the lake...missing them by about 5 minutes!
Luckily
the second day we were able to meet up with them while on a firewood run.
Next time
we
decided we needed a backup plan. I never expected the campground to be
full of a huge group
(thats'
another story in itself). Anyway, we had a great time, but as usual, the
trip was too short!!
